The Chatham Music Club (CMC) promotes the appreciation of classical music through performance and education. We also sponsor a charitable scholarship program known as the Chatham Music Club Scholarship Fund which provides scholarship grants to assist in furthering music education.
Toward these objectives, CMC offers two concerts open to the public each year. The Gala Concert, held in the spring, features Chatham Music Club members as well as scholarship winners, selected at earlier auditions. The second concert features members and guests in vocal and instrumental solos, duets and small ensembles.
In addition to the public concerts, meetings are held September through May in members’ homes. After guests are introduced and upcoming musical events announced, there is a forty-five minute recital by members and guests. A wine and cheese reception allows members to greet the performers and to network.
A monthly newsletter is sent via e-mail or regular postal mail to all members.
The Chatham Music Club, founded in 1999, is a 501(C)3 non-profit corporation founded by Ruth McKendree Treen, Marie Williams and Mitty Ticknor, to promote the appreciation of classical music through performance and education. The Scholarship Competition is held each year and awarded to students studying classical music. We are proud to celebrate our 20th year and thank our founders and members for their efforts.
