2026 Scholarship Competition
We are happy to announce the opening of this year’s Scholarship Competition. Applications must be submitted by April 1, 2026. The competition will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at the First Congregational Church of Chatham, 650 Main Street, Chatham, between 9:00am and 1:00pm. The competition is open to voice and instrumental students in middle school and high school who reside on Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, or Nantucket or study with a teacher on Cape Cod or the Islands. Students should prepare two contrasting works from two of the following classical styles: Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Impressionistic, or 20th Century/Contemporary. Applicants should provide their own accompanist. If an applicant needs assistance in lining up an accompanist, please email annepro@comcast.net
Awards will be presented at the Club’s Gala on June 7, 2026 at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church in Chatham at which time winners will be asked to perform. Prior First Place winners are not eligible to compete. Best of luck!
ANNOUNCING THE RUTH TREEN SCHOLARSHIP FUND
Ruth McKendree Treen, one of the original founders of the Chatham Music Club, passed away on July 13, 2025. She will always be remembered as an exceptional musician with a remarkable gift for putting together programs that the chorus and the audiences loved. A scholarship in her name will be awarded in the spring of 2026 to a deserving student.
